God is the Creator

One day last year I was setting up a tent with my family in the mountains near Seattle. As we were setting up I couldnt help but look around admiring the lake, trees, mountains, the warm sun and the beautiful blue skies. The sheer beauty was incredible, and I couldnt help but admire Gods creation. To think millions of years ago the earth was a blank canvas, and the figment of Gods imagination. I like to picture it this way God, the creator is the artist, and his creation is the canvas on which he paints his other characteristics for us to see. There are many layers to Gods blank canvas. His imagination had no end and is evident in his creation of not only the universe, but his creation of mankind and our ability to be in relationships and procreate. God as the creator is the most fundamental assumption. The dictionary defines the word Creator as a person or thing that creates, the Creator, God. (Dictionary.com)

Genesis 12 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters (NIV Bible. Gen 12). With Gods blank canvas he could have created anything, and he did, as his imagination has no end. Amos 413 He who forms the mountains, who creates the wind, and who reveals his thoughts to mankind, who turns dawn to darkness, and trends on the heights of the earth the Lord God Almighty is his name (NIV Bible. Amos 413). Everywhere I look I am constantly reminded of Gods majesty.

God is the creator of all things including mankind. Genesis 127 God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them male and female, he created them (NIV Bible. Gen 127). Nichols theorizes in The Story that God made humanity his crowing achievement. With opposing ideas about God being the true creator of mankind its worth mentioning that the majority of the scientific community will argue that we evolved from hominids. We share 98.8% of our DNA with primates, as they are most closely related to man. If we argue this theory then the question still remains why then do we still have apes? Why are apes not evolving into the human race? The answer is complicated but we know that in Genesis God says he made mankind in his own image. He made everything according to their kind.

Nichols says that God created us as social beings and in Genesis 224 it says,  That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh (NIV Bible. Gen 224). Nichols goes on to say, Having relationships is essential to being human, and we were made for each other (PG. 40).
