Holy Spirit and the Holy Bible, 470 words essay example

Essay Topic:bible

I believe that the Holy Spirit is God and the third person of God.( john 424) As a person, He can be grieved. ( Ephesians 430) The Holy Spirit was directly involved in the inspiration of the scripture. (2 Peter 121) In the old testament, He came upon certain believers to empower them for a task. ( Judges 146) He is called the Comforter. ( John 1426) He is the "seal" of salvation. (2 Cor. 122) His ministry also involves baptism ( 1 Cor 1213), indwelling( 1 Cor. 316), witness( Romans 816), illumination( psalms 11918, 1 cor 214)and the fi
lling of the Spirit (Acts 431). Those filled with the Spirit will produce the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 522-23). The Holy Spirit bestows the spiritual gifts( 1 Cor. 128-10 Rom. 127-8).
I believe that the Church began at Pentecost ( Acts 21) and is the called out body of believers who are separate from the world (1 Peter 29). The Church is also called the body, or bride, of Christ. The local church is a local body of believers, while the universal Church refers to all the saved of this present age. I believe the true Church is composed of all such persons, who through saving faith in Jesus Christ, has been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the body of Christ of which He is the head (Colossians 118). I believe that the Baptist distinctive portray the biblical model of the church. A congregation of baptized believers, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the Gospel(Acts 241-42) observing the ordinances of Christ(1 Corinthians 112) governed by his laws(Matthew 2820) and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word(Ephesians 47) that it's only scriptural officers are Bishops or Pastors, and Deacons. (1 Tim 31,8 Titus 15 Phil. 11)
I believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired, and is a perfect treasure of heavenly instruction. It is God's word to man. (2 Timothy 316-17). It contains the Old Testament written in Hebrew hermaic and the New Testament written in Greek. It has God for its author, salvation for its end(Proverbs 305-6) and truth without any mixture of error for its matter. That it reveals the principles by which God will judge us(Romans 212) and therefore is, and shall remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried(Isaiah 820). It is important to allow the scripture to speak, convict, educate, encourage, and lead where to go. As a result of our sinfulness, we are in need or divine guidance and wisdom. I believe that to interpret the scripture, one must come to scripture humbly with a knowledge of their presuppositions, traditions, and cultural influences so not to skew the scripture and leave a mark on the scripture, but allow the holy spirit to leave a mark on them through illumination.
