Men were always superior to women. How has women's rights change from the past?(thesis)
( Voting) Women couldn't vote until 1920. So many women they gathered at Seneca Falls, to discuss the problem of women's rights. The Seneca fall convention was organized by Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth cady Stantion. They were American abolitionists and it was the first women's rights convention. The Declaration of Sediments was a document signed by many women and a few men. It states that "That all men and women are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."In other words they belived that the women should have the right to vote. ( History.com). The civil to secure the vote for women. As a result of the war, however, the role of women began to change since many men were fighting. The 15th amendment dealt with voting. It stated "the right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abrogated by the U.S. or by any state on account of race, color or previous condition of servitude." It failed to grant the women to vote. (Crf-usa.org)The National American Women Suffrage Association (NAWSA), was formed on February 18, 1890. The NAWSA was formed to work for Women's Suffrage in the United States. It was led by Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony. In 1916 NAWSA was renamed to National Women's Party. It was led by Alice Paul and Lucy Burns to fight for women's suffrage. Women's right to vote was achieved by both the NAWSA and NWP. In 1890 the 1st state, Wyoming grants the women to vote in all elections. It was not until August 18, 1920 women got to vote by the 19th amendment. Women couldn't vote because many people believed that women weren't as intelligent as men when it came to making political decision.
