The American Revolution had its origins back when the thirteen colonies were property of Great Britain. The major problem was taxation. The colonists discussed on how, they didn't want to be taxed without representation. The Boston Massacre, was one of the incidents that led to the war. It happened on March 5, 1770, in which some British Army soldiers killed about five civilians and injured six others. British parliament attempted to raise money through the Sugar Act, the Stamp Act, and the Townshend Act, to pay for expenses that needed to be recovered from "The French & Indian War." The Townshend Act was an act created by Charles Townshend, which placed a tax on tea, glass, paper, paint, and led. Later, the Boston Tea Party mainly happened because of taxation without representation, and the fact that the Townshend Act was created. The British realized that the colonists drank so much tea each year, they decided to make even more money by taxing the colonists. On December 16, 1773, a ship coming from the East India Company, arrived with a shipment of tea. The Sons of Liberty boarded the ship dressed as Native Americans and dumped thousands of chests of tea into the ocean. The British, of course were really angry and anxious. The Continental Congress was a group of delegates, who met in Philadelphia in September of 1774. They discussed their thoughts and opinions about the Intolerable Acts. Later, one again, they met in 1775, the Continental Congress created the Continental Army, and chose George Washington as commander in chief.
The battle of Bunker Hill was the last thing that led to the American Revolution. Although the colonists didn't win it was an important boost of confidence for them. In order for the colonies to gain full independence, they had to fight a long bitter war. Three days later, King George announced the colonies in rebellion, and thus the war began.

At the beginning, Americans faced many impossible obstacles during the first battles, since they didn't have the best equipment against what the British had. America was just starting to develop and didn't have everything needed for the war, but that didn't stop them from fighting and gaining independence.
The battle of Lexington and Concord, was one of the first battles. It occurred a few months before the Continental Army was created, this battle was fought by local militias. On the night of April 18, 1775, hundreds of British troops came to Concord from Boston to seize an arms cache. While in Lexington a confrontation occurred, which stared the fighting. Other battles came after Lexington and Concord. The battle of Brandywine occurred later on between the Continental army led by George Washington and the British army led by General Sir William Howe. This was a battle that the colonists lost, and made them think that they were far from gaining independence. The British forced the Americans to withdraw toward Philadelphia. It was one of
