Essay Topic:working,important,information,contract

Upon hearing that I retired, a friend insisted that I get in touch with a female friend of his. She contacted him inquiring if he knew anyone who would be interested in work at home employment. He thought that I would be a great candidate, and sent me her e-mail address.
I inquired, and received an e-mail back, asking for information. The information required was standard questions, name, age, address, cell, and fax number. I informed her that I did not have a fax or cell phone. Later, that evening, my friend sent me a message, wanting to know the results. I stated that I felt leery because I did not receive information explaining my duties, nor the site's address.
Later, that evening, my friend sent me a message, wanting to know the results. I stated that I felt leery because I did not receive information about my duties. Furthermore, I did not know the company locality. My friend insisted that I make contact the issues. I followed through. After receiving the information, I knew that it was a scam. According to the email, I would collect monies, from customers that owed debts, and my commission would be ten percent. I was to send the remaining money to the company, the company's locality China. When I mentioned this to my friend, he insisted that it was legitimate and to accept the contract. I realized that this was a scam and my friend's implication.
Out of curiosity, I checked a site about social media scamming. The site revealed information on how to recognize a scammer. Usually, they haven't been on the site for long. They don't have many friends and not too many comments to them. They have few pictures of themselves and often include a picture if a child or children. Next, I checked the e-mail addresses, through a search engine, and they did not exist. The question now, is how were they sent? Upon searching further, I found several sites that host temporary mail. Anyone can send emails from fictitious addresses and. remain anonymous. Furthermore, the fake e-mail addresses are legitimate.
The next step, I checked the IP addresses on an IP website. I found out that the emails came from the Western United States m traveling from several different hosts. In fact, not one from China listed. As far as the company, the site is in the Western United States with the home office in Nigeria.
These companies scheme in various ways. First of all, if given banking information, they will withdraw all the money from the account. Secondly, they will send bogus checks, for cashing, and have the remaining money, less the ten percent, sent to them. Of course, since the checks are bogus, the money sent comes from the worker's account. If a large sum, the worker owes the bank.
It's best to check before entering any contract for working at home. As far as my friend, I blocked and deleted him from my social media website.
