The data of 12 months assessment showed results of the quality evidence when the Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation (GRADE) approach was used. For direct and indirect comparison, initially there was high confidence level in context of estimates but later on the data with 6 month assessment rated down to moderate and low based on the risk of biasness and inconsistency.

The total of more than 20,000 unique titles had been identified as original publications out of which 889 proved to be potentially fully relevant along and thereon 59 articles reported 48 RCTs of 11 branded diets finally got eligible. These 48 RCTs included more than 7,000 individuals with median age of 45 and weight of 94 kg having BMI of 33.
Out of this data, it was found that among the all diet classes the moderate macronutrient and low-carbohydrate diets were the most common within which Atkins, Weight Watchers and Zone were the top brands having most of the comparisons. The network meta-analyses were connected with the parameter of density, which resulted 1.0 and the 6, and 12 month brand network assessment had densities of 0.36 and 0.47 respectively. The analysis for diet class resulted that all treatments were superior to no diet at 6 month checkup plan and low-fat diets had similar estimated effects. The analysis of 12 month follow-up plan estimated average loss of weight of all diet classes when compared with no diet resulting in loss of 1 or 2 kg lesser than 6 month follow up plan. With the 6 month follow-up the low-carbohydrate diet class estimated the highest treatment effect and resulted superior to all other diet classes.
