Leaders and their organizations are trying to make it more convenient for people to help, by incorporating messages into church services, magazines, posters, stickers, and via television and social media. Putnam also agrees that social networks are important in all our lives, often for finding jobs, more often for finding a helping hand, companionship, or a shoulder to cry on (pg. 20). Victims of human trafficking need the communities help to save themselves as well as others who face the same daily struggle. Most people in society agree that reciprocity exist. People within the community help promote and educate the horrible statistics of human trafficking in hopes that one day if they ever experience great grief, that the co, munity would come together to help solve a problem. There are only a few people who escape and are able to live to tell their story. Dai, a survivor lives on to tell her story taking place close to home in the Nevada area. Dai is a Korean female, who happens to understand and speak a little bit of English. Her story starts out as a typical love story, as many stories start. She met a man and fell in love with him. Soon enough he asked her to move to a small town with him and she agreed. After a period of time she was raped and continuously beat and abandoned. Before she had a successful escape, the man she thought she loved, took all of her sensitive identification information. Dai was unable to prove who she was and that led her to a different homeless shelter every night. Dai stated that she was then approach by a women who offered to take her in. Falling into another trap, this women began to sell her to men. Her human trafficking experience happened in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her life completely changed, she was being used and tortured every minute of the day for five consecutive years. Dai began thinking of ways she should ask for help and make a run for it. She was bought by a wealthy older man who wanted Dai to pimp other females to make even more money. Dai accepted the offer because that is the only lifestyle she knew for so long. She realized that she was doing the same thing to other women and keeping the legacy of human trafficking going. She ran away again and this time decided to ask for help. With use of the internet, Dai was able to contact an advocate who later told her to move to another state, where she was provided help and able to start over. To this day, Dai states that she voices her story in hopes to help other innocent women and children seek help. She also promotes to the community that human trafficking is an ongoing problem that people walk passed every day. Dai educated whoever reads her story on how pimps and human trafficking experts have the ability to disguise everything they do.
