Apple, Inc. was founded by Steven Paul Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Gerald Wayne on April 1, 1976 and its headquarter is located in Cupertino, CA. It is the world's most valuable brand with a valuation $741.8 billion and with worldwide annual revenue totaled $199.38 billion. It is an American multinational technology company that manufactures, designs and markets mobile communication. Apple makes personal computers, portable digital music players, media devices and sells a selection of related software such as services, networking solutions, peripheral and third-party digital content and applications. The company products are iPod, iPad, Mac, iPhone, Apple TV and also provides a service which is a portfolio of consumer and professional software applications the iCloud, OS and iOS operating systems, support offerings, services and accessories. Besides, the Apple company sells and delivers digital content and applications in their App Store, iBooks Store, iTunes Store and Mac App Store. Apple sells their products in the US and worldwide through its online stores, retail stores and direct sales force. It also sells their products third-party network carriers, retailers, and wholesalers (Forbes, 2015).
Apple like any other company has had many problems with their iPhones, iPods, iPads and operating system. The company also had production problems in the past with the demand of the company's latest smartphone the iPhone 6. However the organization tries to overcome these issues and handles them best way they can to retain their customers.
Identification of the strategic issues and problems.
The organization has had some issues in the past and one of them was when Apple introduced the iPhone 4. Customers began to complain of reception problems these were caused by an antenna interference that occurred when users held their phone in a certain way (Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative, n.d.).
Apple faced another issued in 2015 the company was having a hard time balancing out production of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus. Apple was not able meet the demand of these two products.
Apple had another issue when downloading IOS 8 to iPhones and iPads did not work well. Apple customers' web connections were working incorrectly and for the people to be able to download the IOS 8, customers had to delete applications and photos to have space to be able to download this operating system.
Apple was having a problem with the iPads according to Adrian Kingsley-Hughes "the iPad juggernaut seems to be running out of steam, and people are no longer buying them like the once did" (2014). The facts are that tablets have a longer upgrade cycle than the iPhones and also people are losing interest in tablets and rather have iPhones like the iPhone 6 Plus.
The company came out with a new iPad Air 2 but Apple customers thought that this iPad look and feel very similar to the old ones like the iPod 3. These iPods had features very similar to the iPhones such as thinner and lighter, these are features that customers have already seen on iPhones.
