Since decades, researchers and scientists are working on finding various breakthroughs that can contribute to technology to answer one single question and that is how to make lives easier for people and it can be concluded that technology has progressed incredibly throughout the years as every day, we get to read about various different technological discoveries on Internet. The developments in technology has changed lifestyles considerably, as now everything that we need is available on our fingertips. The task that was once considered as a far-fetched dream has turned into a reality and now things are achievable and accessible and this is all due to the technological advancements taking place every day. Specifically if we explore the technological developments in area of wireless electronics, we'll get multiple inventions that are already existing such as Bluetooth, tablets, smartphones, USB drives and memory cards to name a few. This research paper is solely going to discuss about this emerging technology in the field of wireless electronics known as Wearable Technology. The paper will further evaluate its functioning, practical applications, its scope in media and how it is impacting our society, respectively.
Introduction
By definition, wearable technology refers to any technological means that can be worn on body easily and it's an innovation type that is capable of performing valuable functions like laptops, tablets and cellphones but in a more refined and convenient way (Tehrani, Kiana, and Andrew Michael). The gadgets that involves wearable technology are portable, trendy and the primary purpose of wearable technology is to provide user with connectivity and access to information with ease to make their their lives easy.
The wearable technology flourished in late ninetees when smartphones and digital watches were introduced in global market and since then the wearable technology has observed progression in terms of innovation and development. The first genuine example of a gadget involving 'wearable technology' was the GoPro camera by Nick Woodman in 2004 using a 35 mm film (Henry Winchester) and since then, various different products came to international market as successors of this technology. Nowadays, there are many different types of gadgets available commercially that perform essential tasks contributing significantly to daily human lives and functions based on wearable technology such as
Headsets
Smartwatches
Wrist Wearable Computers
Healthcare and Fitness Devices
Recording cameras
