Oscar Wilde's aestheticism Essay

It is observed that wild's aestheticism primary deals with two subjects, his notions about morality and Victorian society and ideas about what constitutes art. Wild saw himself as a harbinger of moral era, in which dreaming would be central to experience just emotion for the purpose of emotions. Wild strongly disagrees with Victorian's obsession with duty and purpose, he focuses on socio - economic class distinction. He argues that aesthetic understanding would be reasonable tool for judging someone. On the other hand wild denounced all Victorian ideas about sin and morality, he considered sin as a strong sign of progress, and the art is basically inherently immoral. The entire aesthetic feature we frequently observe in these four stories.
According to him beauty has as many reflections as we have feelings. He uses highly flowery language delivered in biblical register. He has clash with Victorian ethical code of morality. This short story truly projects all aesthetic passion, such as reoccurring selection of dreamy characters and depiction of statue.
Theses expression sound pleasing to the ear wild imply literary techniques of similes and metaphor, when he depicts beauty of statue, as beautiful as weather lock, statue coated with sapphires, rubies and diamond. The title of the story The Happy Prince is also symbolic but in reality he is not happy prince. Oscar wild uses irony while contrasting rich and poor people.
