Anne bradstreet and jonathan edwards was no different. they used their writing as a way to impart their ideas to the readers. for these two authors they were working on the same base and their writing started to get different one would write about religion and the other would write about puritanism edwards goes on endlessly about how god show so much mercy in not throwing all of humanity to the deepest depths of hell by the very earth by itself as edwards says in the sermon, if u hang by a thread with the flames of divine or no hold of to save yourself, and there is nothing that you could have done to induce god to spare you one more moment for they were sinning against with no way to change in his hope or salvation because he could also take these things away as a test of faith in god the awful subject may be for awaking the people in this congregation this that they have heard is the case of every one of you that are out of christ that world of misery. you can look at the great things that god has done for all of this in this world in he is very helpful and the power of god that holds you up when you are down or when u are sad because he hear your cry. the pleasure also holds you up also god will keep you out of hell but they do not see the hands of god working or that he is trying to keep them from going to hell so that they butts will not be on fire when they could be in heaven where all the angles at and hear them sing they little song to u and tell how you can help god with his work and run stuff for him. your wickedness makes you as the good state of your bodily constitution your care is your own life and the means that you use for your own preservation these things are than nothing if god should withdraw his hands they would avail no more from falling. than that thin air to hold up a person that is suspended in it also you downwards with great weight and pressure towards hell and if god let you go you would immediately sink and swiftly pleasure and your own care and best contrivance and all your righteousness would have no more influence to uphold you and keep you out of hell than a spider's web would have to stop a falling rock of god pleasure the earth will not bear u for one more moment also the worth of god is like waters that are demanded for the present that increase more and rise higher and higher till and outlet is given and the longer the stream it would have stopped the more rapid and mighty and once it gone it is lost.
