Government in the Constitution of the United States Essay

People viewed the government proposed by the Constitution in many different ways. However, the Constitution had to be ratified by at least nine of the thirteen states. Those who wanted to ratify the Constitution were called Federalists. They thought that a strong central government would benefit the country as a whole. The others, who thought that the Constitution would create a tyrannical government that would trample on the peoples God given right of liberty, called themselves the antiFederalists. This group opposed a central government and proposed that the individual state should govern themselves since this was the best way to protect peoples rights. In the end, the Federalist position won and it is the form of government that we live under to this day. Now, lets take a closer look and compare the two sides.
Both sides put forth good and wellfounded arguments. They both had their different concerns and opinions and so in the end, it was all kind of a big gamble. The Federalists won the debate and we have the form of government that is defined by the Constitution. And so, although the AntiFeds lost, they helped to form and adjust the government put forth by the Constitution and were the cause of the writing of the Bill of Rights so that the federal government would not be able to repress the rights of the peoples of the United States of America.
To make things simple, the government proposed by the Constitution was a pretty good idea for this country, although it did need some adjustment and alterations. The Fathers of the Constitution saw a need for unity. The states were too divided and instead of being one nation divided into thirteen states, they were one cluster of thirteen divided nations or counties. The only bond that they had with one another was a bond during times of war. And so, they would fight, argue, and quarrel with each but then when a threat came, that happened to meet their common interests, they would come together and form a truce. But as we can see, this isnt a very good idea because there was too much room for betrayal and disaster and so something had to be done about this. The Fathers of the Constitution saw that the government proposed by the Constitution could unite them as the one nation that was very necessary to work efficiently in order to provide freedom. And so, with a united nation, they could move on to other matters.
The Constitution was made so that the government would be as just as possible. In governments such as England, where the king becomes tyrannical and oppresses the people, the rights of the people are abolished. For this reason, they set it up so that a group would rule instead of a single man so as to avoid these adversities.
